Dating from the beginning of the 20th century and forming an integral part of the historical and architectural heritage of the Cité district of downtown Geneva, the building located at the corner of rue d’Italie and rue Rive is undergoing an ambitious energetic renovation.
Anxious to preserve the architectural and aesthetic character, while bringing the building into the energy transition of the 21st century, the company that owns the building has committed to maintaining the appearance of the facade by completely renovating the building’s technical elements.
Heat and cold production will be provided by heat pumps connected to the Génilac network and distributed by the latest generation of active ceilings. The air handling systems are completely replaced to ensure compatibility with the new production sources, thus improving the building’s energy efficiency.
The acoustic and thermal insulation of the building is ensured by replacing the windows on each floor as well as the windows on the first floor.
